Director of Finance, Oceania

About the role

The Director of Finance, Oceania provides strategic financial leadership and oversight across The Nature Conservancy's Oceania region, partnering with business unit leads, finance and operations teams, and regional leadership to ensure financial sustainability and support conservation priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead regional finance strategies, planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, compliance, risk management and governance.
• Serve as trusted advisor to senior leadership and Boards, ensuring effective resource management and risk mitigation.
• Promote consistency in financial management practices across business units and ensure compliance with policies, donor requirements and statutory obligations.
• Provide leadership and direction to finance personnel across Oceania and contribute to global initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination.
• Significant experience in accounting, financial management, budgeting, forecasting, reporting and analysis.
• Proven ability to provide strategic financial advice and business partnering to senior leaders.
• Experience managing geographically dispersed teams across multiple countries.
• Fluent English; multi‑lingual and cross‑cultural experience is a plus.
