Director of Engineering – Wealth Core Platform

About the role

Lead the Wealth Core Platform that powers one of Australia’s largest investment platforms. You will own the end‑to‑end technology lifecycle, from architecture and design through development, testing and operations, while shaping the engineering strategy and culture.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with the Director of Product to define and execute the platform roadmap, including CI/CD, production support and continuous improvement.
• Investigate and resolve production incidents, drive post‑mortems and strengthen platform stability and resilience.
• Foster an innovative, collaborative culture that encourages early risk escalation and lateral thinking.
• Engage with architects and business leaders to align technology decisions with business strategy.
• Attract, coach and retain top‑tier engineering talent.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in a similar senior engineering role with an agile mindset.
• Strong track record delivering Java‑based cloud applications, Spring Boot and micro‑services architectures.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with senior business stakeholders.
• Commitment to staying current with emerging technologies.
