About the role
This senior leadership position offers an experienced strategist the chance to shape reforms within Queensland's planning framework. Based in Brisbane, the Director will guide a high‑performing team to deliver impactful outcomes for communities across the state.
Key responsibilities
- Lead an empowered, engaged team aligned with the Planning Group’s vision and values.
- Oversee and adapt a diverse program of initiatives in response to shifting government priorities.
- Drive critical thinking and rigorous analysis to ensure timely, effective project delivery.
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships across all business areas and with external stakeholders, including LGAQ and peak bodies.
- Synthesize complex technical analysis into clear, actionable advice for executive decision‑making.
- Foster a safe, inclusive workplace that promotes wellbeing, continuous improvement, and innovation.
Required profile
- Proven senior leadership experience in policy or planning environments.
- Strong strategic and program‑management capabilities.
- Demonstrated ability to think critically, analyse complex issues, and develop pragmatic reform solutions.
- Resilience and persistence in delivering outcomes under changing priorities.
- Excellent stakeholder‑engagement and collaboration skills.
