Director - Financial Services Risk Management

About the role

EY is seeking a highly experienced Director of Risk Management to play a key role in growing its Melbourne Financial Services Risk practice. This is a market-facing leadership role focused on expanding the risk management offering, strengthening the practice's capabilities and delivering results for clients. It is a hybrid position based in Melbourne.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and deliver complex risk management engagements across governance, APRA and ASIC regulated environments and broader risk advisory services.
• Support engagement teams in strengthening commercial management, client relationship management and account growth.
• Drive business development by identifying, shaping and converting market opportunities.
• Act as a trusted adviser, giving strategic advice on risk, governance and regulatory compliance.
• Lead, coach and mentor team members and foster a culture of collaboration, quality and professional development.
• Contribute to thought leadership, market-facing activities and brand-building.
• Ensure quality and compliance with professional standards across engagements.
• Collaborate across service lines to deliver integrated client solutions.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in risk management consulting.
• Expertise in several of the listed areas, such as governance framework design, risk transformation programs, risk culture assessments, operational risk frameworks and CPS 230 implementation.
• Experience in consumer protection, conduct risk, customer remediation, independent reviews and regulatory responses.
• Commercial acumen, stakeholder management and leadership experience, including coaching and mentoring.
