Director - Energy Lead Advisory

About the role

EY Parthenon is looking for an experienced Director to join its Energy Lead Advisory team. You will work with energy project developers, investors, financiers, innovators and public sector stakeholders across Australia to deliver M&A solutions that support the transition to a sustainable, green future. The role is hybrid, based in either Melbourne or Sydney.

Key responsibilities

• Originate work and develop client relationships
• Identify value drivers and risk mitigation strategies, challenging assumptions about prices, asset performance and portfolio construction
• Lead transactions through financial modelling, diligence, financing and negotiation
• Manage engagement teams on acquisitions or disposals of energy projects, portfolios or businesses, working with developers, infrastructure and private equity investors, financiers and strategic buyers
• Coordinate bid strategy, documentation, due diligence, valuation and capital structuring
• Advise on energy-sector regulatory compliance and oversee investment materials and financial models
• Support business plan initiatives such as key account development and offer additional services through the global renewables platform

Required profile

• Proven experience in a transaction role within an advisory environment, able to work independently and with senior stakeholders
• Demonstrated expertise in M&A, project and corporate finance structuring, and deep knowledge of energy market fundamentals, technologies, supply chains and public policy
• Bachelor's or master's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, economics, engineering and/or law preferred
• Resilient, creative and adaptable, with strong risk management practice
