Director Corporate Services

About the role

The Director Corporate Services will report to the CEO and provide executive oversight of finance and a broad corporate services portfolio for Boulia Shire. This senior leadership position shapes the council’s future, establishes strong systems and policies, and makes a visible impact in a distinctive outback Queensland community.

Key responsibilities

• Lead budget development, statutory reporting and organisational financial systems.
• Oversee corporate governance, compliance and financial reporting processes.
• Drive organisational development by building staff capability and improving service delivery.
• Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and high‑quality customer service.
• Collaborate with senior leaders and external stakeholders to support community‑focused outcomes.

Required profile

• Senior leadership experience in corporate services, finance, governance or related fields.
• Strong analytical capability, sound judgement and proven change‑leadership skills.
• Experience in local government or similarly regulated environments is highly regarded.
• Relevant financial qualifications such as CPA or equivalent.
