Digital Communications & Events Officer

About the role

Curtin Kalgoorlie is looking for a creative storyteller to showcase the campus’s people, opportunities and achievements. This two‑year fixed‑term position blends digital content creation, photography, video production and event coordination to strengthen the university’s presence in the Goldfields region.

Key responsibilities

• Create engaging, on‑brand content for social media, website and internal platforms.
• Capture and edit high‑quality photos and videos that highlight campus life and initiatives.
• Maintain and update website and digital assets in line with Curtin branding guidelines.
• Coordinate event bookings, student activities, industry functions and community outreach programmes.
• Promote events to maximise visibility and participation.
• Monitor communication performance and use data insights to improve reach.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver compelling campaigns.

Required profile

• Experience in communications, marketing, digital media or a related field.
• Strong writing, storytelling and multi‑platform content creation abilities.
• Proven ability to capture and edit photography and video content.
• Excellent organisational skills with the capacity to manage multiple priorities.
• Proactive, creative and solutions‑focused approach.
• Effective stakeholder engagement and relationship‑building skills.
• Current Australian work rights for the contract duration and willingness to obtain a National Police Clearance.
