Dewatering Operator – Join Fortescue Talent Community

About the role

Fortescue is building a talent community for Dewatering Operators to support its Pilbara mining operations. This expression of interest invites experienced operators to join a pool of candidates for future FIFO positions across Western Australia.

Key responsibilities

• Manage bore fields and pit dewatering operations, including setup, maintenance, and operation of pumps and pipelines.
• Perform poly welding on pipelines and repair or reconfigure dewatering infrastructure.
• Monitor water levels to ensure proper water management and avoid operational delays.
• Inspect and maintain dewatering systems, providing regular performance reports.
• Operate mobile equipment such as loaders when required.
• Collaborate with mine operations to align dewatering activities with site schedules.
• Adhere strictly to safety, environmental, and water discharge regulations.

Required profile

• Experience with open‑pit dewatering, submersible and surface pumps.
• Relevant tickets: Poly Welding, IT Loader, Dogman, Franna, Forklift.
• Heavy Rigid (HR) driver’s licence.
• Ability to work independently in remote FIFO locations.
• Australian working rights and a strong safety commitment.
