Development Draftsperson

About the role
The Development Draftsperson will work across master planning, development design and town planning for residential projects throughout Victoria. You will collaborate with developer partners, consultants, engineers and internal teams to produce accurate documentation that meets council requirements and Victorian building regulations.
Key responsibilities
- Produce master planning and development design documentation.
- Prepare town planning submissions and related design documents for councils across metropolitan and regional Victoria.
- Collaborate directly with developer partners to build strong, long‑term relationships.
- Work closely with internal teams, consultants, engineers and suppliers to develop practical design solutions.
- Ensure all documentation complies with the NCC, Victorian Building Regulations, Small Lot Housing Code and ResCode.
- Assess site conditions, land fall and required site works to develop built‑form solutions.
- Review service locations and coordinate with engineers for accurate site delivery.
- Conduct quality assurance checks and resolve design or documentation inconsistencies.
Required profile
- Diploma or higher qualification in building design, drafting or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated residential drafting experience, ideally within volume building, property development or medium‑density construction.
- Experience preparing council town planning submissions and understanding of urban planning requirements.
- Ability to interpret and produce accurate, detailed drawings.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking and practical problem‑solving skills.
- Proactive and collaborative approach with internal and external stakeholders.
Required skills
- AutoCAD (strong capability).
- Revit (highly regarded).
- Microsoft Office proficiency.
