Desktop Support Engineer - Wollongong

About the role

Datacom is looking for a Desktop Support Engineer based in Wollongong, NSW. The role provides end-user services to Datacom's customers, including onsite support and coverage at the customer's location as required. To be eligible, you must be an Australian citizen.

Key responsibilities

• Log, triage and resolve tickets to a documented standard, keeping customers informed of their issue's status
• Diagnose and fix desktop and laptop faults such as boot and performance issues, drivers, patches, crashes and freezes
• Handle identity and access requests such as password resets, MFA re-registration, new starter accounts and group changes
• Prepare devices for new starters, including enrolment, standard build and application packages
• Enroll and configure phones and tablets, troubleshoot connectivity and app issues, and handle wipes or re-provisioning
• Maintain hardware, peripherals and print services, manage warranty and repair jobs, and keep the asset register accurate
• Document fixes with resolution notes and knowledge base articles

Required profile

• Australian citizenship
• Excellent verbal and written communication, able to explain technical information clearly
• Ability to prioritise work to meet service level agreements and to work autonomously with good time management

Required skills

• Sound knowledge of laptops, desktop PCs, printers, media and audio-visual equipment, BYOD and mobility
• Customer-focused approach to end-user services
