Desktop Support Engineer – Perth

About the role

Datacom is seeking Desktop Support Engineers in Perth CBD to deliver end‑user services for its customers. You will provide hardware and software support, remote assistance, device provisioning and mobility management.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the first point of contact, logging, triaging and resolving tickets while keeping users informed.
• Troubleshoot desktop and laptop issues such as boot problems, performance, driver/patch failures, crashes and freezes using structured checklists.
• Process identity and access requests, including password resets, MFA re‑registration and new‑starter account setup.
• Prepare new‑starter devices with standard builds and application packages.
• Manage mobility devices (phones, tablets) from enrollment to configuration, troubleshooting and secure re‑provisioning.
• Maintain hardware, peripherals and print services, handling fault‑finding, warranty repairs and asset register updates.
• Document resolutions and create knowledge‑base articles for future reference.

Required profile

• Australian citizenship.
• Strong customer‑service focus with the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
• Ability to prioritize work to meet service‑level agreements.

Required skills

• Laptop and desktop PC hardware troubleshooting.
• Printer, media and audio‑visual equipment support.
• BYOD and mobile device management (enrollment, configuration, wipe).
• Password reset, MFA re‑registration and account provisioning.
• Software deployment and remote support tools.
• Asset register maintenance and warranty management.
