Design Manager, Transmission

About the role

ACCIONA is delivering work packages on Western Power's Clean Energy Link, a large-scale transmission network project in Western Australia supporting growing renewable generation. As Design Manager, Transmission, you will lead the planning, coordination and delivery of transmission line and substation designs across HV and MV infrastructure, overseeing design inputs and outputs from inception through delivery. The role covers overhead lines, underground cables, structures and protection and control systems.

Key responsibilities

• Lead transmission line and substation design from concept to detail
• Manage design interfaces across HV and MV infrastructure
• Drive constructability, systems integration and technical governance
• Oversee cost, schedule, design change and risk using CPI, SPI and EVM
• Lead SiD, HAZID/HAZOP and CoM reviews and deliverables
• Mentor junior engineers and build internal design capability
• Manage external consultants and cross-functional communication

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
• 10+ years leading HV transmission (220kV+) design, concept to detail
• Ability to complete a pre-employment medical and National Crime check

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of IEC, IEEE and AS/NZS standards
• Experience managing design, cost, schedule and risk on HV transmission projects
