Design Manager Roads/Civil Lead

About the role

As a Design Manager Roads/Civil Lead in Perth, you will join Aurecon’s Transport Land and Water team to drive the design and delivery of large‑scale road and civil infrastructure projects. You will champion innovative, sustainable solutions that meet client, stakeholder and regulatory expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the design process across a portfolio of major road and civil projects.
• Ensure innovative, high‑quality, cost‑effective solutions that satisfy client, stakeholder and regulatory requirements.
• Proactively resolve technical and design challenges to keep projects on schedule and within scope.
• Foster collaboration among diverse teams and create a high‑performance project culture.
• Build trust‑based relationships with delivery partners, clients, contractors and government agencies.
• Manage interdisciplinary interfaces throughout all delivery stages.
• Communicate concisely with project governance groups.
• Contribute to business development by identifying future market opportunities.

Required profile

• Broad experience working in multidisciplinary teams.
• Proven experience as a Design Manager on major road projects.
• Tertiary engineering qualification.
• Understanding of how design influences construction methodology.
• Knowledge of project and consortium commercial aspects.

• Strong decision‑making skills, drive and persistence.
• Commitment to mentoring the next generation of project leaders.
