Design Manager

About the role

ACCIONA is a global leader in regenerative infrastructure, seeking a Design Manager to coordinate and guide multidisciplinary design teams on complex civil infrastructure projects in Perth. Reporting to the Head of Design Management, you will be responsible for delivering design outcomes across the project lifecycle, ensuring alignment with client requirements, Australian standards and regulatory obligations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop internal and external multidisciplinary design teams, providing technical leadership, mentoring and direction to achieve project objectives and high‑quality design outcomes.
• Oversee the end‑to‑end design lifecycle, ensuring solutions are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget and in compliance with legislative, technical and quality requirements.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, contractors and key stakeholders, aligning design delivery with project goals while managing expectations and risks.
• Drive innovation, continuous improvement and best‑practice design methodologies, ensuring integrity of design documentation and providing subject‑matter expertise to support project and business success.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline, with proven experience leading multidisciplinary design teams on major civil infrastructure projects.
• Strong technical expertise across transport, water, energy, transmission and other large‑scale infrastructure sectors, with the ability to drive high‑quality design outcomes.
• Demonstrated capability in managing complex stakeholder relationships, including clients, contractors, consultants and regulatory authorities.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, commercial and project management skills; CPEng status (or progress towards chartership) highly regarded.
