Demi Chef

About the role

Oaks Sunshine Coast Oasis Resort is looking for a skilled Demi Chef to join its kitchen team on a full-time basis. The role supports the smooth running of the kitchen, assists with food preparation, cooking and presentation, and helps deliver a high-quality dining experience for guests. The position is rotating across Monday to Sunday, with no split shifts required.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a variety of dishes in line with menu standards and guest expectations.
• Assist in developing and plating high-quality meals.
• Maintain cleanliness, organisation and compliance with food safety, hygiene and WHS standards.
• Work with the kitchen team to ensure efficient service.
• Support and mentor junior kitchen staff where required.
• Contribute to menu planning, recipe development and kitchen efficiency improvements.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Demi Chef or in a similar kitchen role.
• Relevant Australian cookery qualifications, ideally Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent.
• Knowledge of cooking techniques, food preparation and presentation standards.
• Understanding of HACCP, OH&S and kitchen hygiene requirements.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills, and a positive, proactive attitude.
• Flexibility to work across a range of shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
• Working rights in Australia or New Zealand.

• Hourly rates excluding superannuation: $31.30 Monday to Friday, $39.13 Saturday, $46.95 Sunday.
