Databricks Data Engineer – Canberra

About the role

Join a leading Data and AI practice delivering large‑scale data platform solutions for government and defence clients. As a Databricks Engineer you will design and implement production‑grade solutions on the Databricks Lakehouse platform, working on real client mandates from day one.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver batch and streaming pipelines using Delta Lake, Delta Live Tables, Unity Catalog and Workflows.
• Apply data modelling best practices and integrate solutions with cloud‑native services.
• Collaborate with architects and senior engineers, taking ownership of deliverables on complex engagements.
• Maintain data quality, lifecycle management and automation within Lakehouse environments.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience with Databricks components (Delta Lake, DLT, Unity Catalog, Workflows, SQL Warehouses).
• Strong Python and SQL skills, with PySpark for distributed processing.
• Proven ETL/ELT pipeline design, cloud experience (Azure, AWS or GCP) and Git/CI‑CD in a data engineering context.
• Excellent communication with technical and business stakeholders.
• Australian citizenship; NV1 or baseline security clearance preferred.
