Data Specialists – Defence & National Security Consulting

About the role

Join Downer Professional Services in Canberra to support complex defence and national security projects. You will work across a range of data‑focused positions, from governance and engineering to analytics and resilience, delivering high‑impact outcomes for Australian defence customers.

Key responsibilities

• Provide data governance, architecture, engineering and scientific expertise to Defence Digital Group and Joint Capabilities Group projects.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design, build, and maintain secure data solutions.
• Ensure data resilience, metadata management, and compliance with security clearances and ITAR requirements.
• Support change management and project delivery activities as needed.

Required profile

• Professional experience in ICT and data roles within the defence or national‑security sector.
• Current AGSVA security clearance (or ability to obtain one) and willingness to maintain it.
• Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and commitment to high‑quality outcomes.
