Data Scientist – People Analytics

About the role

Join CommBank’s People Analytics team to shape the future workforce through data, AI and advanced analytics. You will work on complex workforce datasets, develop machine‑learning and generative‑AI solutions, and help leaders make evidence‑based decisions that improve employee experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with HR and business stakeholders to translate workforce challenges into analytical, ML and GenAI opportunities.
• Develop and implement data‑science solutions supporting skills mapping, capability planning, employee experience and organisational effectiveness.
• Analyse large, complex workforce data sets, performing data preparation, feature engineering, modelling, validation and interpretation.
• Build, test and evaluate machine‑learning and generative‑AI models using appropriate statistical methods and responsible AI practices.
• Support deployment, monitoring and continuous improvement of models in collaboration with senior data scientists and MLOps teams.

Required profile

• Inquisitive data‑science professional with a passion for solving workforce problems.
• Experience applying statistical and machine‑learning techniques to large, multi‑dimensional data.
• Ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams including data engineers, platform teams and HR stakeholders.
• Strong communication skills to convey analytical insights to non‑technical audiences.
