Data Modeler (Contract) - Melbourne

About the role

Hastha Solutions is recruiting urgently for a Data Modeler on a 12-month contract in Melbourne, working on the Enterprise Data Model for Australia Post. The role works closely with business SMEs to understand business processes and design enterprise data models, supporting application and integration design rather than purely data warehousing initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Work with business SMEs to understand business processes and design enterprise data models
• Design and build conceptual, logical and physical data models aligned to business and enterprise data strategies
• Lead data modelling workshops and solution design discussions with business and technical stakeholders
• Collaborate with Business Analysts and Data Architects to gather, analyse and refine data requirements
• Define and maintain data entities, relationships, attributes and business-aligned data structures
• Map source systems to enterprise data models and maintain comprehensive documentation
• Design and optimize data models for scalability, performance, data quality and operational and analytical platforms

Required profile

• Strong experience in data modelling and data architecture; a Data Architect with hands-on modelling expertise is ideal
• Australian or NZ citizen or PR holder only
• Good-to-have: domain experience in Travel, Transportation & Hospitality (TTH)

Required skills

• Data modelling methodologies: dimensional modelling, Data Vault, 3NF
• Enterprise modelling tools: ER/Studio, Erwin Data Modeler
• Logical and physical data model design, metadata management, data lineage, model governance
• Cloud data modelling and optimization, including Google BigQuery
• Good-to-have: Collibra certifications (e.g. Ranger, Data Steward, Governance), data quality/observability tooling, Python/dbt, CI/CD, Git, Terraform
