Data Center Technician

About the role

Amazon Web Services is seeking skilled Data Center Technicians to support the operation of its world‑class computing infrastructure. You will work in high‑density data centers, acting as a primary point of contact for internal engineering teams and external vendors while ensuring system reliability and uptime.

Key responsibilities

• Prioritize and resolve trouble tickets, acting as escalation point for system and server issues.
• Deep‑dive into XEN virtualization problems and troubleshoot server hardware.
• Remediate physical layer outages, including power, cooling and mechanical failures.
• Participate in 24 × 7 on‑call rotations and respond to high‑severity incidents.
• Install, configure and replace racks, servers and network devices according to internal SLAs.
• Enforce Amazon security best practices and manage interactions with third‑party vendors.
• Contribute to metrics definition, operational efficiency ideas and small‑to‑mid‑scale projects.

Required profile

• Strong problem‑solving abilities with a focus on system reliability.
• Willingness to work on‑call shifts and handle high‑severity incidents.
• Ability to communicate effectively with internal engineers, external contractors and vendors.
