Cyberworthiness Engineer

About the role

Saab Australia is looking for a Cyberworthiness Engineer to join its Professional Services team. You will support defence and national‑security projects by delivering high‑quality security advisory and engineering services across complex, regulated environments.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert information‑security advice and system‑security engineering support throughout project lifecycles.
• Define security requirements, architecture and design, and support the implementation of security controls.
• Conduct security risk, maturity and gap assessments and contribute to ISMS development.
• Ensure compliance with Defence frameworks such as the Information Security Manual (ISM), Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) and ISO 27001.
• Support certification, accreditation, audit and assurance activities, preparing required documentation.
• Engage with engineering, project and client stakeholders to embed security into system design and delivery.

Required profile

• Well‑rounded cyber‑security professional with experience in security engineering, risk and compliance within complex environments.
• Structured problem‑solving approach and ability to work under time‑sensitive, high‑pressure conditions.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

Required skills

• Information Security Management Systems (ISMS) implementation.
• ISO 27001 framework.
• Information Security Manual (ISM) knowledge.
• Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) familiarity.
