Cyber Security Engineer - Vulnerability Management

About the role

A leading Australian enterprise is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer with strong vulnerability management expertise to join a high‑profile program focused on AI‑driven cyber threats. The role involves identifying, assessing and prioritising vulnerabilities across cloud, infrastructure, endpoint and application environments.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, assess and prioritize vulnerabilities across cloud, infrastructure, endpoint and application environments.
• Drive exposure management activities and support remediation efforts with technology teams.
• Coordinate vulnerability scanning and apply prioritisation frameworks such as EPSS, CVSS and KEV.
• Collaborate with a security team to strengthen overall security posture and address emerging AI‑driven threats.
• Contribute to threat hunting, detection engineering and incident response as needed.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualifications and/or relevant industry certifications.
• Proven cyber security engineering experience in large, complex environments.
• Demonstrated vulnerability management experience, including scanning and prioritisation.
• Strong understanding of cloud, infrastructure, endpoint and application security.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

Required skills

• Python scripting.
• Vulnerability scanning tools.
• Familiarity with EPSS, CVSS and KEV frameworks.
