Cyber Security Analyst – Incident Responder

About the role

YNOT Consulting Services is seeking a Cyber Security Analyst to join its incident response team. In this position you will respond to cyber security incidents, conduct technical analysis, and help improve the overall security posture of the department.

Key responsibilities

• Investigate and manage cyber security incidents end‑to‑end across the incident response lifecycle.
• Use Microsoft security tools to detect, analyse, and contain threats.
• Communicate incident status and technical findings to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Document incidents, maintain records, and produce formal reports and briefs.
• Lead post‑incident recovery activities, including reviews and recommendations.
• Develop, test, and maintain the incident management policy and procedures.
• Identify and implement technical improvements such as alert tuning.
• Mentor and upskill junior team members.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of hands‑on experience in cyber security incident response.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across all organisational levels.

Required skills

• Hands‑on technical expertise with Microsoft security tools (e.g., Microsoft Defender, Sentinel).
• Experience conducting end‑to‑end incident response investigations.
• GIAC certifications such as GCIH or GCFA (desired).
• Microsoft security certifications (desired).
