Cyber Security Analyst – Hybrid (Melbourne/Adelaide)

About the role

BAE Systems is seeking a Cyber Security Analyst to join its SOC Engineering Team. Based in Melbourne (with Adelaide preference) you will work in a hybrid environment, supporting the design, operation and continuous improvement of security technologies across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Engineer, operate and enhance SIEM, EDR, email and web security, and vulnerability management platforms.
• Design, tune and maintain high‑value detection rules, analytics and correlation logic.
• Create and update operational documentation, detection content and playbooks.
• Automate repetitive tasks using scripting, orchestration and AI‑assisted tooling.
• Support vulnerability scanning, analysis, prioritisation and remediation coordination.
• Assist in incident response, triage, containment and forensic analysis.
• Collaborate with cyber security, IT and business stakeholders to deliver risk‑based improvements.

Required profile

• Relevant ICT or Engineering qualification, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience in cyber security operations, engineering, incident response or related ICT roles.
• Ability to interpret attacker techniques and behaviours in enterprise environments.
• Strong fundamentals across operating systems, networking and identity management.
