Customer Marketing Manager - Pet Specialty Retail

About the role

Royal Canin, part of Mars, is looking for a commercially minded, customer-focused Customer Marketing Manager to join its Pet Specialty Retail team in Melbourne, Victoria. The role reports to the Pet Specialty Retail Customer Marketing Lead and runs on a full-time, fixed-term basis until November 2027. You will combine shopper, customer and category insights to build marketing strategies that grow the business, strengthen retailer partnerships and create strong omnichannel experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Lead customer marketing strategy and activation plans for key Pet Specialty Retail customers
• Turn customer, shopper and category insights into joint business growth opportunities
• Develop and run annual customer marketing plans, campaigns, promotions and retailer activations
• Adapt brand and portfolio strategies into customer-specific programs with measurable outcomes
• Drive omnichannel activations across in-store, digital shelf, retail media, loyalty and other retailer touchpoints
• Partner with retailers to improve digital commerce performance using Perfect Digital Store principles
• Manage customer marketing investment and A&CP budgets, tracking ROI and effectiveness
• Build relationships with retailer marketing teams and support retailer conferences and brand immersion events
• Advocate for customer and shopper needs internally

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business or a related discipline
• 3-5 years' experience in Customer Marketing, Trade Marketing, Shopper Marketing, Customer Development or a similar commercial function
• Experience in FMCG, consumer goods or retail environments
• Experience in the pet care or veterinary industry is highly regarded
