Customer Banking Specialist (Contract) - Cairns Branch

About the role

The Retail Banking Services (RBS) team at CommBank serves more than 10 million personal and small business customers across Australia. As the Customer Banking Specialist at the Cairns branch, you will be the first point of contact for customers and the face of the bank in the branch. This is a full-time relief position, Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5:00pm, 38 hours per week, on a contract basis until December 2027. Rosters are predetermined, so availability for the stated roster must be confirmed before applying.

Key responsibilities

• Greet each customer and clearly understand their enquiry, guiding them to the appropriate channel
• Build a personal connection with customers through meaningful conversation to enhance their experience
• Offer options by educating and demonstrating in-branch technology and digital banking options
• Stay aware of movements within the branch so it runs effectively and efficiently and customers are satisfied

Required profile

• A proven track record of delivering exceptional customer service, ideally in financial services, retail or hospitality
• Excellent communication skills and a professional, approachable demeanour
• Ability to manage customer expectations
• Genuine interest in building a career with CommBank and improving customers' financial wellbeing
