Course Coordinator & Part‑Time Lecturer – Business & Hospitality

About the role

Nova Higher Education is expanding its Adelaide campus and seeks an experienced academic to coordinate and teach Business, Hospitality and Culinary units within the Bachelor of Culinary Arts Business Management. This part‑time position blends curriculum leadership with hands‑on classroom and kitchen instruction.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate Business, Hospitality and Culinary units, ensuring alignment with program outcomes.
• Deliver lectures, tutorials and practical kitchen classes, and assess student performance.
• Supervise students in commercial kitchen and hospitality environments.
• Support curriculum development, assessment moderation and continuous quality improvement.
• Prepare learning resources and maintain accurate records in the Learning Management System.
• Provide academic guidance, mentoring and support to students.
• Collaborate with academic and professional staff to enhance the student experience.
• Ensure compliance with TEQSA standards, food safety regulations and Work Health & Safety legislation.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or equivalent in Business, Hospitality, Commercial Cookery, Culinary Arts or a related field (higher qualifications desirable).
• Demonstrated industry experience in hospitality, culinary operations or business management.
• Teaching experience in higher education, VET or industry training is highly regarded.
• Excellent communication, organisational and student‑engagement abilities.
• Strong knowledge of commercial hospitality operations, food safety and quality assurance.
• Passion for mentoring students and delivering industry‑relevant education.
