Cost Analyst – SAP CO & Fieldglass Specialist

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Cost Analyst/Cost Controller to provide financial oversight, budgeting, forecasting and cost governance across our operations in Adelaide. The role will focus on SAP Controlling, contractor cost management and procurement systems within the Oil & Gas, Mining or heavy‑industrial manufacturing sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Act as primary user of SAP CO to monitor cost centre performance and internal orders.
• Manage contractor timesheets and service entries in SAP Fieldglass, ensuring alignment with contractual rates.
• Oversee Coupa procurement workflows, verify coding and budget compliance before approval.
• Perform regular reconciliations between SAP, Coupa and Fieldglass to maintain data accuracy.
• Conduct monthly plan‑vs‑actual variance analysis and identify cost‑saving opportunities.
• Collaborate with plant and maintenance managers to prepare Estimate at Completion (EAC) forecasts.
• Prepare cash‑flow forecasts based on project schedules and contractor needs.
• Validate contractor invoices against work completion and manage monthly accruals.
• Produce weekly and monthly spend reports, including Wrench Time analysis.
• Support internal and external audits with required documentation.

Required profile

• 5+ years of cost controlling experience in Oil & Gas, Mining or heavy‑industrial sectors.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to interpret and challenge financial data.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in SAP Controlling (CO) module.
• Hands‑on experience with SAP Fieldglass.
• Working knowledge of Coupa procurement system.
• Expert‑level MS Excel (Pivot Tables, Power Query, Data Modelling).
