Corporate Communications & Media Specialist

About the role

QIC is hiring a permanent, hybrid Corporate Communications & Media Specialist in Brisbane. Reporting to the Corporate Communications Manager, the role covers corporate communications, media relations, issues management and internal communications, working closely with investment teams and communications specialists to turn complex topics into clear, engaging content.

Key responsibilities

• Write and edit content such as media releases, messaging, briefing notes, talking points, commentary and thought leadership.
• Develop communications plans, key messages, media materials and media lists.
• Support media relations, issues management and crisis communications, including media enquiries and spokesperson briefings.
• Monitor, report and analyse media coverage to identify insights for future communications.
• Advise and support investment teams and other stakeholders on communicating complex topics.
• Contribute to internal communications and engagement, including leadership updates, employee content and campaigns.

Required profile

• Experience in corporate communications, media relations or PR, in-house or agency.
• Experience across media relations, communications planning and content development.
• Strong business curiosity and interest in financial markets and investments, including the real estate portfolio.
• Experience in financial services, funds management, banking or consulting is highly regarded.

Required skills

• Excellent writing and editing skills, able to make complex information clear and engaging.
• Sound judgement, attention to detail and confidence building relationships with a range of stakeholders.
• A collaborative mindset and eagerness to learn.
