About the role

Join the culinary team at Sofitel Brisbane Central, a 5‑star luxury hotel in the heart of Brisbane. As a Cook you will prepare high‑quality dishes, uphold kitchen standards and contribute to memorable dining experiences for guests.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a variety of hot and cold food items according to recipes and quality standards.
• Maintain proper food handling, sanitation and safety practices.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient operations and meet guest expectations.
• Assist in menu planning, develop new dishes and manage food inventory.
• Keep the work environment clean, organised and compliant with health regulations.

Required profile

• Flexibility to work across different shifts, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
• Previous experience in a similar role within a luxury or five‑star environment.
• Trade qualification in Commercial Cookery and current Food Handlers certificate.
• Strong knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients and kitchen procedures.
• Excellent knife skills and ability to operate standard kitchen equipment.
