Conveyor Technician – Belt Scraper Maintenance

About the role

Join Newmont's Maintenance team at the Boddington mine as a Conveyor Technician. You will be responsible for keeping conveyor belt scraper systems reliable and performing, directly supporting safe and efficient gold production.

Key responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, installation, repair and servicing of conveyor belt scrapers and related components.
• Conduct routine quality checks and inspections of conveyor belts to identify faults, wear and damage.
• Inspect, service, adjust and replace scraper blades and associated equipment.
• Identify, report and rectify defects to ensure equipment meets required standards.
• Provide technical advice and hands‑on input for improvement initiatives.
• Support planned maintenance and shutdown activities in collaboration with maintenance and operations teams.
• Ensure all work complies with safety, quality and procedural requirements.

Required profile

• Prior experience as a Conveyor Scraper Technician, Conveyor Belt Technician or Mechanical Maintenance Fitter, preferably in mining or heavy industry.
• Strong knowledge of conveyor belt systems, belt cleaners, skirting systems and belt tracking.
• Proven ability to perform routine inspections and complete maintenance reports.
• Practical problem‑solving skills with a solutions‑focused approach.
