Conveyancer

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Conveyancer to join our client’s property practice. The role involves managing residential and commercial conveyancing matters from instruction through to settlement, while providing clear communication to clients and stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Manage residential and commercial conveyancing matters from initial instruction to settlement.
• Prepare, review and process contracts of sale, transfer documentation, settlement statements and related documents.
• Conduct title searches, property searches and other due‑diligence activities.
• Coordinate electronic settlements using PEXA and prepare settlement calculations and adjustments.
• Liaise directly with clients, solicitors, real estate agents, brokers, banks and other parties.
• Monitor finance approvals, contract conditions, settlement dates and critical deadlines.
• Maintain accurate matter files and records in the firm’s practice management system.
• Provide regular updates to clients and flag potential issues to supervising lawyers.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience in Australian conveyancing or property law.
• Proven ability to manage conveyancing matters independently from commencement to settlement.
• Strong knowledge of Australian residential and commercial property transactions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with PEXA for electronic settlements.
• Familiarity with legal practice management software such as LEAP, Smokeball or Actionstep.
• Ability to conduct title searches and perform due‑diligence.
