Contracts Specialist

About the role

Canon is looking for a high-calibre Contracts Specialist to join its Contracts Management Team in the Sydney office, reporting to the Senior Manager - Tenders & Contracts. The role involves partnering with internal and external stakeholders and navigating complex, high-value contracts to deliver sound commercial outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Review customer contracts and requested amendments to reflect the dynamic nature of sales opportunities
• Provide commercially focused, balanced risk assessments of exposure to Canon in contractual terms, both when reviewing contracts and when negotiating final agreements
• Work with peers, senior management, the in-house legal team and other stakeholders to finalise contracts expeditiously
• Carry out continual improvement actions to improve the customer contract experience with Canon

Required profile

• Commercially astute and practical, with strong judgement and interpersonal skills
• Experience managing sales contract negotiations, including reviewing and drafting contractual terms and conditions
• Confident working autonomously, with negotiation and influencing skills
• Experience in a commercial sales or customer-focused environment
• A tertiary qualification in a legal discipline and experience in a commercial sales environment would be an added advantage

• Extensive experience reviewing, drafting and negotiating commercial contracts
• Ability to assess and manage commercial and contractual risk
• Demonstrated negotiation and stakeholder influencing skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
