Contracts Manager / Senior Contracts Administrator

About the role

BESIX Watpac is seeking an experienced Contracts Manager or Senior Contracts Administrator to lead contract administration for large‑scale construction projects across Queensland, the Northern Territory and New Zealand. Based in Brisbane, you will act as a key commercial lead, providing guidance and mentorship to the commercial team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage project contract administration, ensuring compliance with head contract and subcontract requirements.
• Oversee procurement, trade package tendering, subcontractor negotiations and budget performance.
• Prepare and administer subcontract agreements, variations and progress claims.
• Monitor project financial performance through cost reporting, forecasting, variation tracking and commercial reporting.
• Mentor, coach and supervise Contracts Administrators, Cadets and project administrative staff.
• Manage tender documentation, review submissions and prepare tender recommendations.

Required profile

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience leading contracts administration on large building projects, including mentoring and supervising staff.
• Strong communication, influencing and relationship‑building skills at all business levels.
• Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and deliver results.
• Excellent leadership and stakeholder management capability.
