About the role
Provide clinical psychiatry services at consultant level for the Top End Mental Health and Alcohol and Other Drugs Service in Darwin, and contribute to the Northern Territory Medical Program.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive psychiatric assessment, diagnosis and treatment for adults and adolescents.
- Teach psychiatry to medical students and supervise postgraduate trainees.
- Participate in the Post Graduate Psychiatry Training Program of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatry.
Required profile
- Registered medical practitioner with specialist qualification in psychiatry.
- Experience at senior consultant level (SMO1.1 – SMO1.6) within mental health and substance‑use services.
Required skills
- Psychiatric assessment and formulation.
- Psychopharmacology and medication management.
- Clinical supervision and teaching.
