Consultant Nephrologist - Regional NSW

About the role

JPS Medical is working with a major inland regional referral hospital in New South Wales to find a full-time FRACP-qualified Consultant Nephrologist for an established Renal Medicine service. The role covers acute inpatient nephrology, chronic kidney disease management, dialysis oversight and outpatient renal clinics, with a contribution to multidisciplinary care across a broad regional catchment and to ongoing service development.

Key responsibilities

• Acute inpatient nephrology
• Chronic kidney disease clinics
• In-centre haemodialysis services
• Outpatient renal clinics
• Integration with ICU and acute medicine
• Collaboration with Endocrinology, Cardiology and Palliative Care
• Referral pathways to metropolitan transplant centres

Required profile

• Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in Nephrology
• Specialist registration with AHPRA (or eligibility)
• International medical graduates assessed by the RACP as partially or substantially comparable

The hospital is a large regional public hospital serving a vast western NSW catchment, investing in service expansion and infrastructure. The location is an inland regional city with good schooling, short commutes and regular air links to Sydney. Interstate or international applicants are told that the RACP specialist assessment and AHPRA registration pathway can be supported.
