About the role
The Consultant Investigation role is part of NAB's Fraud Prevention & Detection team, focused on protecting customers and the community from financial crime. You will lead end‑to‑end fraud investigations, uncover insights, and contribute to high‑quality outcomes that safeguard the bank and its clients.
Key responsibilities
- Execute standard to moderately complex fraud investigations, ensuring thorough evidence collection, documentation, and preservation.
- Partner with peers in other internal investigative units to share intelligence and manage shared cases effectively.
- Conduct root‑cause analysis to identify control gaps or vulnerabilities that enabled fraud, and document findings in case closures.
- Trigger immediate recovery actions such as funds recovery, account freezes, and loss‑mitigation workflows to minimise financial impact.
Required profile
- Experience in fraud operations, financial crime investigations, regulatory compliance, or operational risk.
- Ability to balance a dynamic caseload and work under pressure.
- Certificate or diploma in investigations, justice, business, or equivalent practical industry experience.
