Consultant Emergency Medicine – Regional South Australia

About the role

An excellent opportunity for a Consultant in Emergency Medicine to join a well‑established regional public hospital serving over 67,000 people. The role involves senior clinical duties in a busy Emergency Department with a focus on high‑quality care, leadership, education and service development.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high‑quality emergency care to patients with a broad range of acute and complex conditions.
• Provide senior clinical oversight, leadership and supervision to junior medical officers and trainee doctors.
• Apply advanced skills in resuscitation, airway management, circulatory support and assessment of critically unwell patients.
• Contribute to clinical governance, quality improvement, audits, teaching and research activities.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and external providers to improve patient outcomes.

Required profile

• Fellowship of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (FACEM).
• Registration or eligibility for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
• Extensive experience in Emergency Medicine, including management of critically unwell patients.
• Strong clinical judgement and commitment to clinical leadership, teaching and mentoring.

Required skills

• Advanced resuscitation techniques.
• Airway management.
• Circulatory support for critically ill patients.
