Construction Manager – Solar & BESS Projects

About the role

We are looking for a Construction Manager to lead the on‑site delivery of solar photovoltaic (PV) and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects in Queensland. The role is a two‑year fixed‑term contract, with the possibility of becoming permanent, and reports to the Senior Project Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary on‑site liaison between the Senior Project Manager, contractors, local authorities, and the community.
• Ensure all health and safety standards are met, conducting regular monitoring and promoting continuous improvement of the safety culture.
• Monitor and control project progress, quality, and contractual compliance of contractor work.
• Record and report any deviations, non‑conformances (NCRs) and health‑safety incidents to the Senior Project Manager.
• Coordinate with the established solar construction team to deliver projects safely, on time and to technical specifications.
• Propose and implement corrective actions to resolve schedule, design, environmental or technical issues.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing construction of large‑scale solar PV and/or BESS projects.
• Strong knowledge of health, safety and environmental regulations applicable to construction sites.
• Ability to communicate effectively with contractors, government agencies and community stakeholders.
• Experience in monitoring project schedules, quality standards and contractual obligations.
