Construction Manager

About the role

Veolia is looking for a Construction Manager in Pyrmont, Australia, to advise managers, project teams and project managers on delivering industrial buildings and infrastructure focused on Materials Recovery Facilities (MRF), Food Organics Garden Organics (FOGO) facilities and Energy from Waste facilities. The role draws on knowledge of design, tenders, pricing, contractors, commissioning oversight and operational performance, and covers project concept development, tendering, delivery and hand-over to operations.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on projects ranging from minor implementations to complex multidiscipline projects, mostly valued between $10m and $100m.
• Provide civil and structural construction expertise for the development and delivery of Veolia's projects.
• Assist in developing early concept designs and proof of concepts for civil, site and industrial structures.
• Apply commercial and construction cost knowledge, and use value engineering and design optimisation for civil, site works and building structures.
• Help develop concept designs for contractors to obtain competitive pricing and tendering.
• Use commercial knowledge for cost estimates and testing contractor pricing.

Required profile

• Degree in civil or structural engineering or similar.
• Minimum of ten years of experience, with extensive experience in Australia.
• Demonstrated experience managing industrial building, structural and/or civil project tenders, including understanding of project pricing.
• Demonstrated track record managing industrial building, structural and/or civil construction projects.
• Demonstrated understanding of industrial building, structural and/or civil design.
• Ability to work on multiple projects locally and interstate.
• Driver's licence (essential).
