Construction Manager

About the role

Wabtec’s Digital Intelligence Signaling & Systems team is seeking a Construction Manager to lead the delivery of complex rail‑related construction projects. Based in Perth and operating FIFO to Newman or Port Hedland, you will report to the Program Manager and ensure that construction plans meet design, technical, quality, safety and budget requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Promote and enforce the highest standards of health, safety and environmental management on site.
• Develop, implement and monitor construction plans, tracking time, cost and quality performance.
• Ensure construction work complies with engineering designs, client standards and statutory regulations.
• Review and appraise contractor and subcontractor plans, schedules and variations.
• Negotiate minor contract variations and additional work within project scope.
• Participate in tender preparation and review.
• Report on all aspects of project performance as required.
• Manage and monitor the construction team roster and supervise service providers, contractors and subcontractors.

Required profile

• Engineering degree or equivalent.
• Significant experience delivering construction projects on time and within budget.
• Proven track record in the rail or heavy‑industry environment, preferably BHP/RIO rail.
• Strong competency in Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Project Professional.
