Construction Manager – Civil/Structures

About the role

This senior position will lead the civil and structural delivery team for a leading Victorian construction firm. The role combines commercial oversight with hands‑on project delivery across a portfolio that includes highways, bridges, wharfs, tunnels and wind‑farm infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a team of four engineers and multiple site technicians to ensure safe, on‑time, on‑budget delivery.
• Oversee commercial aspects including budgeting, cost control and client liaison.
• Coordinate with Vicroads and other major stakeholders on large‑scale infrastructure projects.
• Drive continuous improvement in construction methods, quality and safety standards.
• Develop junior engineers, fostering a strong team culture.

Required profile

• 8‑15 years of experience in civil/structural construction, preferably with a Tier 1 or Tier 2 Victorian contractor.
• Proven track record on bridge, wharf, dam or similar infrastructure projects (construction, not design only).
• Direct experience working on Vicroads contracts.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
