Conference, Sales & Events Manager

About the role

Minor Hotels is seeking an experienced Conference, Sales & Events Manager for Oaks Port Douglas Resort. The role focuses on driving MICE, wedding and local event business, building market relationships and growing revenue.

Key responsibilities

• Proactively source and secure new conference, events, corporate and group business through networking and relationship building.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with local businesses, tourism partners, event planners and community stakeholders.
• Convert enquiries into bookings, prepare proposals, negotiate contracts and ensure profitability.
• Monitor event profitability, manage costs, prepare P&L reporting and exceed budget targets.
• Liaise with internal departments and external vendors to deliver high‑quality events aligned with brand standards.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in sales, business development and revenue generation within hotel, tourism or events.
• Strong local networking, relationship‑building and stakeholder management skills.
• Commercially focused mindset with ability to identify growth opportunities.
• High attention to detail and ability to manage reporting and administrative requirements.

Required skills

• Experience using iVvy (highly regarded).
