Concept Graphic Designer

About the role

The City of Parramatta is looking for a Concept Graphic Designer to provide quality concept design and creative graphic design services to all its business units. The role is full time and permanent, at 35 hours per week with hybrid working options, starting 21 December 2026 or early January 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, design and produce publications and promotional campaigns for print and electronic distribution, including advertisements, brochures, newsletters and reports.
• Work with external vendors to source and develop design-related solutions, products and services.
• Work with internal customers to understand their needs and deliver high-level concept designs for major projects, campaigns, events and other Council initiatives.
• Provide design advice and support to internal clients, delivering graphic design solutions aligned with the City of Parramatta brand guidelines.
• Independently plan workloads to meet project outcomes and client requirements.
• Coordinate and advise on print production, including preparing documents for printing, liaising with printers, checking proofs and advising on economical print options.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years' experience in graphic design.
• Demonstrated experience producing detailed graphic designs for print and using software such as InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Experience producing print and digital publications for a variety of clients.
• High customer service quality and experience dealing with staff at all levels, internal and external.
• Degree or Diploma in Graphic Arts / Design or an equivalent qualification.
• Australian or New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency in Australia; applicants with valid visas may be considered for casual or term contracts depending on visa conditions.
