Complex Mental Health Support Worker - SIL

About the role

CSBS Group is looking for compassionate, reliable Support Workers to join its team on the Gold Coast. You will provide individualised one-on-one support to two men with complex mental health and disability-related needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder and Schizophrenia, across separate living arrangements. The role is hands-on, helping people live life on their own terms with dignity, choice, safety and meaningful participation.

Key responsibilities

• Build meaningful, professional relationships with participants
• Support daily living activities, community access and social participation
• Support health and wellbeing goals
• Follow Positive Behaviour Support strategies
• Maintain accurate records and shift reporting
• Work with families and allied health professionals

Required profile

• Minimum 12 months' disability support experience
• Calm, non-judgemental approach and ability to stay calm under pressure
• Flexibility and reliability; willing to learn and follow support plans
• Confident working independently and as part of a team
• Highly desirable: mental health, autism and schizophrenia support, Positive Behaviour Support, SIL or residential support experience, trauma-informed practice

Required skills

• Certificate III Individual Support, Disability or equivalent (desirable)
• NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
• Queensland Blue Card
• Current First Aid and CPR
• Open driver licence and reliable insured vehicle
• Smartphone with data access
• Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module
