About the role
HammondCare, an independent Christian charity providing the Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme funded by the Australian Government, is looking for a caring volunteer to make one-on-one community social visits with an elderly client in Lidsdale, NSW. The client enjoys a warm chat over coffee, working on diamond-dot crafts and sharing stories about her family and pets; she also has a small pet bird. Regular visits can improve quality of life and help people feel less isolated.
Key responsibilities
- Visit the client once a week or every two weeks, depending on availability, for about one hour.
- Share friendly conversation, creative hobbies and the comfort of shared time.
- Support the client's social connection and wellbeing through regular presence.
Required profile
- Aged 18 or older.
- National Volunteer Police Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare.
- Availability for visits between 9am and 4pm, Monday to Sunday.
