About the role

HammondCare, an independent Christian charity that supports people to live in their homes and maintain their independence, is looking for a caring person to become a social visitor for an elderly client in Shellharbour City. The client enjoys music, watching TV, a good conversation and going out, and would like to meet someone to visit him for a cuppa and a chat. Regular visits can help older people feel less isolated and improve their quality of life.

Key responsibilities

Visit the client once a week or every two weeks, depending on availability, for about one hour.
Bring joy to the client through conversation, music and outings.
Visit between 9am and 4pm, Monday to Sunday.

Required profile

18 years or older.
A national volunteer police check, arranged and paid for by HammondCare.
Availability for regular visits, weekly or fortnightly.
