About the role
HammondCare, an independent Christian charity that supports people to live in their homes and maintain their independence, is looking for a caring volunteer to visit an older person in Woonona. The client enjoys watching gold and soccer, gardening and would like regular visits for a cuppa and a chat, or, if the weather permits, trips to the community garden or the local men's shed together.
Key responsibilities
- Visit the client regularly, bringing them a cuppa and a chat
- Take the client to the community garden or the local men's shed when the weather permits
- Help reduce isolation and improve the quality of life of the older person
Required profile
- 18 years or older
- National Volunteer Police Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare
- Availability for a one-hour visit between 9am and 4pm, Monday to Sunday, weekly or fortnightly depending on availability
