About the role
The Bendigo Kangan Institute is seeking an experienced Community Services Teacher to deliver vocational education and training in Alcohol and Other Drugs. Based at the Bendigo City Campus, the role is primarily classroom‑based with some work‑based and occasional evening delivery.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver engaging, industry‑relevant training and assessment in Alcohol and Other Drugs and related Community Services programs.
- Create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment for students from diverse backgrounds.
- Adapt teaching approaches and learning activities to meet different student needs.
- Monitor student progress and provide timely, constructive feedback.
- Collaborate with industry and internal stakeholders to keep training relevant.
- Contribute to curriculum development, validation and continuous improvement activities.
Required profile
- Passionate educator with current industry experience in Alcohol and Other Drugs or a closely related community services setting.
- Strong facilitation, communication and student engagement skills.
- Ability to support students from diverse backgrounds and varied learning needs.
- High‑level knowledge of relevant legislation, community services and health issues.
Required skills
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or willingness to enrol).
- Certificate IV or Diploma of Alcohol and Other Drugs.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Alcohol and Other Drugs legislation, policy and regulatory frameworks.
