Community Relations Advisor – Indigenous Engagement

About the role

The Community Relations Advisor will strengthen the partnership between Newmont Tanami and its host communities. Reporting to the Team Lead, Community Relations, you will support Indigenous employment initiatives, community engagement programmes and stakeholder partnerships to deliver positive social outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Support Indigenous employment, trainee, apprenticeship and Yapa Crew programmes.
• Mentor Indigenous employees through onboarding, development and retention initiatives.
• Coordinate community meetings, stakeholder engagement activities and site visits.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with Traditional Owners, Warlpiri communities and the Central Land Council.
• Represent Newmont at community events and engagement activities.
• Support cultural heritage protection and work‑area clearance activities.
• Monitor commitments under the Consolidated Mining Agreement and Ten‑Year Plan.
• Promote cultural awareness initiatives across the site.
• Identify opportunities to support Indigenous businesses and local procurement.
• Contribute to community investment programmes and positive social performance outcomes.

Required profile

• Experience working with remote Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander communities.
• Demonstrated ability to build respectful relationships with Traditional Owners, Elders and Aboriginal organisations.
• Strong stakeholder engagement, community relationship management and communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and conflict‑resolution abilities.
